TOPOS

Terms of Service

Effective: April 13, 2026

These terms govern your use of Topos Health. We've written them in plain language so you know exactly what you're agreeing to. If you have questions, reach out to us at privacy@topos.health.

1. What Topos is

Topos Health is a personalized health platform that helps you understand and act on your health data. It connects your genetics, lab results, wearable data, family health history, and daily habits into a single intelligence layer that provides personalized guidance.

Important:

Topos is not a medical device, not a healthcare provider, and not a substitute for professional medical care. The guidance Topos provides is informational. It is not a medical diagnosis, prescription, or treatment plan. Always consult your healthcare provider for medical decisions.

2. Your responsibilities

Age requirement: you must be 18 or older to create an account. Teen accounts (ages 13–17) require parental consent and are subject to additional protections.

Accuracy: the health data you provide should be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Topos's guidance is only as good as the data it's built on.

Medical decisions: you should not rely solely on Topos for medical decisions. Topos helps you understand your health and prepare for conversations with your doctor. It does not replace those conversations.

Account security: you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. We recommend enabling multi-factor authentication in Settings.

3. AI guidance disclaimer

Topos uses AI, powered by Anthropic, to analyze your health data and provide personalized guidance. Here is what you should know:

AI guidance is based on your data and published health research. It is not a medical diagnosis, prescription, or treatment plan.

AI can make mistakes. We build safeguards to catch errors, including zero-hallucination rules that prevent the AI from inventing data, but you should always verify important health information with your healthcare provider.

Topos uses a confidence classification system to help you understand the strength of evidence behind each recommendation:

Established: backed by clinical guidelines and broad medical consensus.

Emerging: supported by strong research evidence, not yet standard practice.

Cutting edge: early research, worth knowing about, presented with appropriate caveats.

4. Family sharing

When you join a Family Circle, you consent to sharing family health patterns with connected family members. You can control what is shared and leave a Family Circle at any time in Settings.

Family health insights are based on shared patterns across generations. They help identify inherited risks and inform screening timelines. Individual health data (your specific lab values, medications, conversations) remains private unless you explicitly share it.

5. Data and privacy

Your use of Topos is governed by our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, which explains in detail what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights. We take the security of your health data seriously. You can read the full details there.

6. Intellectual property

Your data: you own your health data. You can export it or delete it at any time through Settings.

Our platform: Topos Health owns the platform, software, AI systems (via Anthropic license), and the methods used to generate insights. AI-generated content (your Health Portrait, practice plans, coaching insights) is created for your personal use.

7. Service availability

Topos is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep the platform reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

During the beta period, features may change more frequently. We appreciate your patience and your feedback. It directly shapes what we build.

8. Limitation of liability

Topos is not liable for health outcomes resulting from actions taken based on AI-generated guidance. You acknowledge that AI guidance is informational and not a substitute for professional medical care.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Topos is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the preceding 12 months.

9. Dispute resolution

If a dispute arises, we prefer to resolve it through good-faith conversation first. If that doesn't work, we will pursue mediation before any formal legal action.

As a last resort, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis. However, nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Washington My Health My Data Act or other applicable consumer protection laws.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms with at least 30 days' notice via email. Continued use of Topos after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If a change is material enough to affect your rights, we will ask for your explicit acknowledgment.
